The Grave Sin of Formal Schism by rejecting the Pope
Anyone who denies or rejects the authority of the Pope over the Catholic Church or who claims the Catholic Church to be in Doctrinal error is in effect calling Our Lord Jesus Christ a LIAR! This is the Grave Sin of Formal Schism and results in latae sententiae EXCOMMUNICATION of the offender regardless of what moral conviction of conscience led him to that belief. If we are Catholic then we SUPPORT POPE FRANCIS and trust him to lead our Church as the Vicar of Christ appointed by Jesus Himself!

LOVE IS THE MESSAGE OF POPE FRANCIS…
Here is the message of Pope Francis… so why don’t all the bigots listen!!!! Families are being torn apart and forced to suffer under current US policies – fathers being thrown in jail and separated from their families – children from their parents! We have to solve our immigration problems but do it in a way which demonstrates COMPASSION for our fellow man and love of others!
Only LOVE and respect for the HUMAN DIGNITY of all people will overcome the divisions, hatred, and intolerance in our society and our World…
LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS JESUS LOVES US…

As a Faithful Catholic respectful of the rights and human dignity of all persons and as a Freedom Loving United States Citizen, I must speak out in DISGUST and DISMAY over the degradation of the moral character of our nation by one Donald J. Trump!

This year ABORTION and GAY MARRIAGE are not the key issues in the United States Presidential Race. CIVIL RIGHTS has once again come to the forefront of our national consciousness and indeed OUR CHILDREN may have to once again fight against the pre-Selma intolerances of the 1960s!
As I drove my kids to school this morning we were discussing how so many of my children’s friends had PARENTS who were supporting Donald Trump in the upcoming election and how all the young people including my 2 voting age daughters are largely backing Bernie Sanders – a man who fought alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and was even himself ARRESTED during the peaceful protests against racial prejudices in the United States.
The younger generation does not UNDERSTAND the language of RACISM and INTOLERANCE. They do not even remember segregation or people openly calling others the ‘N’ word. My 14 and 17 year olds told me that I didn’t just need to yap on social media complaining about Trump, rather I needed to lecture some of the moms in the school carpool line who were SUPPORTING HIM!!! And, by the way, my children attend a CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL!
How can we attempt to teach our children not to engage in cyber bullying when at the same time we as parents are VOTING FOR A MAN FOR PRESIDENT who engages in precisely that bad behavior – sending out racist, intolerant and offensive tweets to bash his political opponents and even violently ejecting and arresting African American citizens who dared to exercise their First Amendment rights during a Trump rally!
FASCISM!!!! FASCISM!!!!! FASCISM!!!!
How loudly do I need to scream it…
DONALD TRUMP IS A RACIST, INTOLERANT, FASCIST BIGOT WHO IS DESTROYING THE MORAL CHARACTER OF OUR NATION!!!!
I issue this desperate plea to all Americans planning to vote in the upcoming Republican primaries…
Please do not usher in a MADMAN as leader of the Free World who advocates policies which would openly discriminate against and persecute religious minorities, women, and certain immigrant Ethnicities and Nationalities. Many in our nation’s past have given their very LIVES to overcome such Racist and Nativistic Intolerance! From Abraham Lincoln to Martin Luther King Jr. to the millions who sacrificed their lives in the US Civil War in the 19th Century to the brave soldiers who died defending our freedom and liberty in the face of Nazi fascist aggression during World War II…
Most of those who are alive today no longer remember the lessons we learned in our World’s past and that is regrettable for as Santayana wisely cautioned…
If we do not learn our HISTORY and take heed of the mistakes and lessons of our forefathers then it will be our CHILDREN who will suffer and OUR CHILDREN who will be forced to live through the horrors once again and OUR CHILDREN who will again be called upon to restore integrity and moral sanity to our World!
Let’s not put such an undue burden on the Millennials of the New American Century!

Pope John Paul II taught us that it is okay to be a Pope of the People!

I still remember how Pope John Paul II greeted the throngs of college students who crowded onto the USC Horseshoe to get a glimpse of this courageous Polish Pope who would soon play a decisive role in the peaceful downfall of the communist ‘evil empire’ in Europe. He greeted us amid the loud and enthusiastic roar of the students…
“John – Paul – II, We – Love – You!”
And the pontiff raised his voice a bit as he responded back to us (he had no choice because the students were cheering so loud – LOL) …
“It is true. John Paul II, he loves you,”
“It is wonderful to be young. It is wonderful to be young and a student of a university. It is wonderful to be young and a student of the University of South Carolina.”
It is this same brand of personal charm and charisma that Pope Francis has exuded which is bringing so many Catholics, young and old, back to their Faith and drawing millions around the world to admire his shining example of the Christian spirit of charity and compassion for all humanity – indeed – for all God’s Children.
Pope Francis has truly become a Media Sensation who has captured the heart of the World. He is even comfortable taking selfies with the young people he meets during his travels. Not something you would normally expect from a snooty world-leader type. But this Pope is not like that. He is a regular guy – a human being just like us and he doesn’t try to be anything higher or mightier than us. This technology savvy pope is an internet and social media pro sending out regular tweets on @Pontifex and posting his current pics on ‘The Pope App‘.

Some would lobby against and criticize Pope Francis for his casual and personable style, the way he gets out with the ordinary people – even the poor and the sinners and tries to respond, as Jesus surely would have, to their individual human needs. He kisses little children and washes feet of those whom society has rejected.
As we come to know our new Holy Father – we are witnessing the many similarities between Pope Francis and newly Canonized Saint John Paul The Great, both of whom mirrored the Love of Jesus with a personal style, charity, and openness that seems to radiate to all of humanity what Christianity is really all about. Just as Jesus sat down an enjoyed dinner with sinners, befriended tax collectors, and comforted lepers – now we see Pope Francis showing that same oneness and solidarity with his flock. He is truly a Good Shepherd to us all…
Yes indeed, we have another Pope of the People and We Love Pope Francis 🙂

“The true origin of marriage, venerable brothers, is well known to all. Though revilers of the Christian faith refuse to acknowledge the never-interrupted doctrine of the Church on this subject, and have long striven to destroy the testimony of all nations and of all times, they have nevertheless failed not only to quench the powerful light of truth, but even to lessen it. We record what is to all known, and cannot be doubted by any, that God, on the sixth day of creation, having made man from the slime of the earth, and having breathed into his face the breath of life, gave him a companion, whom He miraculously took from the side of Adam when he was locked in sleep. God thus, in His most far-reaching foresight, decreed that this husband and wife should be the natural beginning of the human race, from whom it might be propagated and preserved by an unfailing fruitfulness throughout all futurity of time.
